Controlling the default media player from another java app

Hello!

I'm new to developing applications for blackberry. I just found out that I can use Java which I am familiar with. I would like to create an application that controls the default media player that is on the device based on some timed events (i.e. start, stop, pause, next song from the playlist,...).

Is there a way to do access the media player or do I have to reprogram all the media player functionality (especially the part that manages playlists) and use just the bare javax.microedition.media.Player "one song at a time" playing functionality?

Thanks for any hints...

Re: Controlling the default media player from another java app

Hi garsti!

Once you invoke the native player you cannot control it in any way.  So you have to go with your option #2: "Reprogram all the media player functionality (especially the part that manages playlists) and use just the bare javax.microedition.media.Player "one song at a time" playing functionality?"
