Conventions for keyboard shortcuts for custom menu items.

We are creating an application to view a manual.  The screen which displays a page has menu items for zoom in, zoom out, next page, previous page.  I would like to assign keyboard shortcuts for these as well.  I have seen in the best practices guide that it is a common convention to have 'i' be a shortcut for zoom in, 'o' for out.  Is it common for Blackberry applications to have some kind of indication in the menu that there is a shortcut for the item as well, e.g. a menu like:  Zoom In (i) or perhaps some easy way to underline the character I in the menu?
