DNS Error and Tunnel Failure

I have got 2 issues. My project reads XML Nodes from a Web Service. After reading, the data will be stored in SQLite DB. If there's no proper coverage, data should be retrieved from DB. Otherwise from Web Service.

Issue #1:

if MDS-CS is started and Local Area Connection is disbled, It's working fine.

if (((HttpConnection)conn).getResponseCode() != HTTP_OK)

I'm calling a method which will be retrieving data from DB.

But, if I'm using ";deviceside=true" after closing MDS-CS and disbling Local Area Connection, It's throwing net.rim.device.cldc.io.dns.DNSExceptionSmiley Very HappyNS Error.  After reading the following line only it's showing Exception

conn = (HttpConnection) Connector.open(url);

 Is there any solution for that?

Issue #2:

If I'm downloading the same application into Blackberry 8520 without using  ";deviceside=true" and after removing the Sim, It's showing java.io.IOException: Tunnel failure.  For removing coverage, I removed the SimWithout Coverage, It should retrieve data from DB. How can I test my application in Blackberry Handset without removing Sim and there is no coverage?
