BTW: tomorrow I'm talking about 'BlackBerry Java Applications developed using Eclipse' at 'MobileTimes' in Düsseldorf (german) http://www.mobile-times.de/sprecher
...and I cannot demonstrate the powerfull debugger

just also tried debugging thru USB on device
packaging + singning without problems
installing apps - ok
then.... ConnectionTimeout error from Debugger
so its the same using Simulators or real Devices

Can you send the following log file to email@example.com (after a failed debug)?
Refer to this thread in your email message and post in this thread once you have sent it.

just sent the logfile...
BTW: my presentation about 'BlackBerry Java Development using eclipse' today went well - even without demonstrating the debugger ;-) some from the audience now want to try out BB Java

Glad to hear the presentation went well. I've received your log file and will let you know what I find out.

The logs didn't show much. We haven't been able to reproduce this either.
It is a bit of an complicated environment you have (Win 7 VM on Mac OS). There must be some kind of port or local socket conflict somewhere.

all other parts run well, just used the DesktopManager,
also using TCP Socket connections from inside Simulator
any windows experts here how to check what prevents the Debugger to connect ?
(I'm using Windows only because BlackBerry Development is windows-only ;-)

do you know which ports must be available to connect the debugger ?

Let me dig up some more information. In the mean time, can you try and see if the BlackBerry JDE is able to connect its debugger to a simulator?
