Disabling GPS in blackberry via code

Hi all,

I am building an application which should fetch the Current latitude and longitude coordinates through GPS every 5 min and once its fetched it should switch off the GPS in BlackBerry to stop the battery getting dried out.

All i need to know is it possible to disable the GPS settings in BlackBerry via code??????

( I am aware that manually this could be done options->Advanced Options->GPS)

If not what is the other way of preventing the battery getting driedout??? kindly shoot up your feedbacks...!!!

Regards,

Re: Disabling GPS in blackberry via code

One workaround solution is, you can pause location tracking with the help of

"pauseLocationTracking" method.

Re: Disabling GPS in blackberry via code

Is there any other way of disabling gps in blackberry other than the workaround.

Or is there a way to launch the settings page with the gps disable settings option
