The way iPhone supports "In App Store Purchase", do we have this functionality in Blackberry. Basically I am developing an application which will sell the content as per requirement.
eg. A new report only if user buys within the application. Do we have an API support for this?
Thanks a lot,

RIM will be releasing a payment API later in the year but in technical terms, yes in App purchases are possible. I haven't done much research on what happens on the iPhone (does it bring up the App Store for purchase or does it act like an App Store itself and downloads it etc.) but you can have it bring up the App World and purchase additional content or whatever you want. That is closest to what you can do right now until the payment API is released.

Even I have the same query. Does BB allow in app purchases? It will help us implement a subscription based model too?
Is there an alternate way to do this? Can we lock the functionality of a downloaded application on a particular date and ask the user to buy a new updated application from the app store incase subscription based payments are not allowed?
Please let me know.
