Executing Javascript on JDE 4.2.1

Hi everyone,

I want to add JavaScript execution to my trade application which uses rim api 4.2.1. Since BrowserField is not supported in this version, is there any other way for me to execute Javascript given as a string and get the output?
I don't need to display the browser interface to the user. Just want to execute a simple javascript code and get the result. I'd like to do this without using a 3rd party JS Engine, but any suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Cyclo

Just curious why you are supporting 4.2.1?  Take a quick look at this link to see which OS people are actually using :

Re: Executing Javascript on JDE 4.2.1

Hi Steven,
Thanks for the info.
We have few clients who uses this version. So we want to make sure the application runs on all platforms.
Is there a way of achieving this in 4.2.1? If not, we might have to move to a newer platform.

Only way I could think of would be to use a server to help out. Highly recoomend you move customers up to 5.0 devices.
