Fixed Top HorizontalFieldManager

[ Edited ]

Hello,

I'm trying to make a top fixed banner (HorizontalFieldManager), facebook/twitter style, But I have no idea how to do it:

I tired:

fmt=new HorizontalFieldManager(Manager.USE_ALL_WIDTH | Manager.NO_VERTICAL_SCROLL );

But it didn't work, the field manager moves up when I scroll down.

Hope you guys can help me.

Also, how can I center all boutons inside of HorizontalFieldManager?

Re: Fixed Top HorizontalFieldManager

Welcome to the forum.

What you are asking is not trivial and will require a bit of background reading as well as trial and error.

Start with this background reading.

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/MainScreen-explained/ta-p/606644

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/Create-a-custom-layout-manager-for-a-screen/...

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/How-to-Extend-Manager/ta-p/446749

Once you have been through this, then try out a few options and ask questions.

I am not aware of a KB article or Thread on this forum that exactly matches your requirements, but there are a lot of similar questions, so search the forum for answers too.

Good luck.

Re: Fixed Top HorizontalFieldManager

You can use MainScreen.setBanner() to set fixed title, which won't scroll. You can pass some manager or field to this method as an argument.

If this is new to you, I recommend you review the first URL that I gave you.  It includes setBanner() and a lot more things about MainScreen (like setStatus()) that I suspect you will find useful, which is why I pointed you at it rather than just giving you the answer to your specific question.

Re: Fixed Top HorizontalFieldManager

First year IT student here, I'm developping my first blackberry application (also first mobile application).

I don't have any iNet connection in my appartement, so I couldn't check out your links.

I'll check them out when I'm back in my parents home, with normal iNet connection.

Also I finished first release and submitted the app to AppWorld 4 days ago, is it normal that the app didn't get validated yet?

First time through, Apps can take 10+ working days to get approved.

If you couldn't follow my links, how could you see the forum?

I'm using a wifi hotspot, it's enough to navigate through formus, but not enough to watch videos. So I checked out all of the links but not one with the video.

Re: Fixed Top HorizontalFieldManager

The important one, which has the solution to your problem and more beside, is MainScreen Explained, which is not a video.
