GPS Detection on BlackBerry Bold

Is it possible to check whether a device (Bold specifically) has the following settings enables via API:

GPS Services: Location ON

Location Aiding: Enabled

When building a location provider using locationProvider = LocationProvider.getInstance(null);

locationProvider is null but I need to know if this is due to Location being set to OFF rather than GPS not supported etc.

Ideally I would want to do the following:

1. Check if GPS is supported on the device

2. Check if Location is ON and Location Aiding is Enabled.

Provide status messages accordingly to the user.

Re: GPS Detection on BlackBerry Bold

The GPS Services option does not toggle GPS on or off.  It enables and disables a BlackBerry from reporting its location to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.  This is explained here:  http://na.blackberry.com/eng/deliverables/2590/Prevent_others_from_tracking_your_location_218678_11....

Location aiding allows for quicker GPS fixes.  http://na.blackberry.com/eng/deliverables/4652/Turn_off_location_aiding_400936_11.jsp

There are no BlackBerry APIs to detect these settings.
