Getting started

Part 3

Well, after failing miserably to update my Eclipse software with the version 5.0 JRE so I could develope for the blackberry phone I actually have access to (since I cannot get any of the blackberry simulators to actually work!) because my net would go down, and then eclipse would time out on the upgrade. Besides, I want the upgrade FILES in case I get a new computer, or just decide to do my development on one of the other machines I have here (since it is norking very well where I am doing it.

I had tried just grabbing the files (after eclipse software upgrade told me where they were, and what they were called), but nothing worked.

The 3rd time I tried to do the software upgrade, after 3 hours, the net went down again (oops) and eclipse timed out, and gave up., I in desperation, retried just getting firfox to download the jar files anyway.

suddenly decided it was working! Oh, joy.

I have now spent over 10 hours getting the jar files I need from these links

for OS 4, 176 MB

for OS 5 245MB

for OS 6 255MB

for OS 7 295MB

From that other gentlemans message, I had already gotten

for OS 5? 221MB

Now I find out that I cannot use any of these files.

They say they are executable jar files, but when I run them, I get an error message:

got a window
Java Virtual Machine Launcher
X Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from

I cannot get eclipse to use them as a software update.

and I cannot import from them

Now what?

Ok, that was a waste of a day, appearently.

Anyone know why the blackberry jar files won't work on my pc?
