I have a custom menuitem on the browser that saves a bookmark to a dedicated web site

how can I obtain the current browser page title programatically ?

When you run your custom menu item there is a current url passed as a custom menu context object.

Use this url to open an HttpConnection, get stream and analyze html head/title tags.

It should be simple.

That's eventually what I did but thought I might be able to save time and network data consumption by querying the title from the browser session that is already open with this page

If you are using your own browser field, there is a getTitle() method on browser content.
