Re: Graphical UI for Audio Streaming

Just stumbled upon this neat Open Source API from BB !!!

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/Streaming-media-Start-to-finish/ta-p/488255

and to make the APIs work, do download CircularByteBuffer class. This is not packaged with the source file provided in that URL.

http://ostermiller.org/utils/CircularBuffer.html

Hope this helps !!

Re: Graphical UI for Audio Streaming

I was hoping that you had pointed me to the Holy Grail, but the code keeps calls a non-existing method "resize( int, int)" of the class "com.Ostermiller.utilCircularByteBuffer".

There is a resize() method on the class, but 1) it doesn't take any parameters, and b) is private.

Maybe it's assuming an older version of the buffer class, but I could not find one with that interface in the site.  Smiley Sad

Did you get it to work?

Re: Graphical UI for Audio Streaming

I'm having the same issue.

If I connect using wifi or deviceside=true, it only download more or less 800bytes and nothing sounds.

If I connect usign bis service, it keeps downloading but no sounds.

If I change de live streaming radio url and i use a mp3 file on a server, it works perfectly. I think there is some issues with a file from which it can't get the size (live streaming)

Any idea?

Re: Graphical UI for Audio Streaming

I pledge a $20 Amazon Gift Card for whoever posts a fix to this or other working copy of MP3 live streaming code (open for use by others).

Anyone else contributes to the pot?

Re: Graphical UI for Audio Streaming

Well, I solved my own problem (live redio streaming) by finding the issue I had in my code: in the URL of the stream I just had to tack  +";deviceside=true" so the player connects directly to the resource.

I guess I just won my own Amazon $20... Smiley Happy

Happy coding!

[ Edited ]

Well, I had already that deviceside=true on my code but it doesn't connect to the resource.

I have tested it with "interface=wifi" also and it doesn't work. The only way i could connect to the streaming ip : port url was using BIS appendix. But it only connect, not plays anything but a couple of seconds of the audio streaming.

Re: Graphical UI for Audio Streaming

Does your input stream return -1?

Re: Graphical UI for Audio Streaming

Hi lovish,

Do you mean the size of the contentconnection? If so, yes, it returns -1.

I suppose it's because it's a live stream and the size is unknown isn't it?

Regards
