HTTP request size limit?

Hi guys,

While debugging my application on a simulator, I've realized that when a single http post request I'm sending from the device exceeds ~6.2 kilobytes, it never goes through the mds simulator and times out after the allotted time passes. I'm not having this problem on a real device as I've tried http post requests up to 60-70 kilobytes without any problems. I have 2 questions:

1- Are there any settings on the mds simulator that specifies the maximum http request size? I know there is a general maximum data setting but it seems to be related to the http response rather than the outgoing http request.

2- Is there a setting like that on a real BES, and if there is, how can I change it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I believe that BES has a size limit of 256K "out of the box", but this can be adjusted by the administrator.

BIS-B also has a smaller limit, ~60KB

You should try establishing a direct connection on the simulator and see if the issue goes away. Don't start MDS, and append  ";deviceside=true" to you URL.

Thank you. Do you know how this 256K limit can be changed on the BES? Is there a setting somewhere I can change, etc?

Re: HTTP request size limit?

It can be changed, but I'm not a BES admin.  You could take that question over to the BES forum.
