Recently my hard drive died on me meaning I lost all of the files of my blackberry application. However, the app is installed on my blackberry device and is also available to download through Blackberry App World. Is there anyway to retrieve the files?

you can recover files deleted from a HD.
First you have to stop using that HD. REALLY!!! I MEAN IT!!
Then in other computer plug in your HD and install a file recovery tool like "file scavenger". But not in your HD.
Then scan the HD and see what you can recover.
When the disk are wiped out the files are still there. The file system is told that the space is available. So the files are there until you write new info in it.
I have recovered information from flash cards and HD many times.

I hope you don't mean get your source/project from a cod file, because you can't do that. You'd need to decompile it and the decomilers out there are awful. In fact I think there was only one attempt at it.
However, you can retrieve your cod file.
You can use the latest version of Javaloader to retrieves modules from the device:
javaloader -u save [yourApp].cod
Will save the app .cod to your current directory. Good luck!
