then what Am i doing wrong ... please help , this is my code.

VerticalFieldManager myManager = new VerticalFieldManager()

{
protected void sublayout(int width, int height) {
int height1 = Functions.mHeight;
//super.setPosition(30, 30);
super.sublayout( Display.getWidth(), height1);

 setExtent( Display.getWidth(), height1);

}

};


I use this code in my screen (that has a picture background), and I get "myManager" 's background WHITE ! plus setPosition() also is not functioning... 
where did i go wrong ?

if you call super.sublayout you let the system layout the manager. you can either do it yourself (setExtent, setVirtualExtend, layoutChild, setPositionChild) or not, but not both.
