I'm working on Voice Recorder Control with (RecordControl interface) in BlackBerry.
I want to append the voice data on already recorded file.
Is it possible to append the new data on already recorded file? or any other solution to append the voice data on already recorded file?

This isn't directly supported. The data you receive when recording is a complete file (with required header information, etc..). Appending one file to another would create a file with an invalid format.
You could pause and resume your recording to create a single file.
Otherwise you'd need to develop your own method combine the audio files.

I assume you are recording in amr format.
The solution is given below
if you want to append or insert audio, create a new file and once the user presses stop, combine both the files, and create another file which contains both the files. it can be done by reading from inputstream of both the files and then writing to the output stream of the new file.,,,

Thanks for the replies.
Anyone have idea what formats and characteristics like Hz, Mono etc. are supported by most of the new generation BB devices. so that we will decode it in this format and combine the data.
