How to compile the code and generate the COD and JAD in command line mode?

I am looking for an option to compile my application in command line mode and to generate the COD & JAD files.

I have developed the my application in Blackberry JDE and I have to transfer my application to my BB device without building from JDE. It should be done in command line mode only.

Can you guide me?

Thanks in Advance,

Bala.

Re: How to compile the code and generate the COD and JAD in command line mode?

Why does it need to be so?

I never had experience in this before, but I see people suggest - http://bb-ant-tools.sourceforge.net/

Cheers..

It can be done via BB Ant Tools

Check BB Ant Tools homepage for guidelines.

If you are not familiar with Ant then check Apache Ant homepage before checking BB Ant Tools.

@mantaker

We will be using version control to manage the source. There everything will be done over the script. That's why I am looking for command line mode.

Apache Ant works with major version control systems.

For instance: http://ant.apache.org/antlibs/svn/index.html

If you use a CVS inside your office, you can sync it up using eclipse right?

@mantaker

That's fine. Syncing is not a problem here. I need to do using the command line option.

Re: How to compile the code and generate the COD and JAD in command line mode?

It can be simpler than that.

Put this in a .bat file:

@echo off
setlocal
set bin=C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.5.0\bin
set rim=.
set app=<Enter application name here>

for %%i in ("%bin%") do set bin=%%~si

echo Building %app%...
@echo off
%bin%\rapc.exe  -quiet import=%bin%\..\lib\net_rim_api.jar codename=%rim%\%app% %rim%\%app%.rapc warnkey=0x52424200;0x52525400;0x52435200 @%bin%\%app%_build.files > build.log
if not %ERRORLEVEL%==0 goto error

rem ** add whatever else you want after building here.

:error
echo Error.
