How to detect the auto-start vs manual invocation?

1. Is it possible to distinguish in the MIDlet code between amanual invocation (user's selection of the MIDlet) and auto-start(i.e. auto invocation after turning power on) and how?

2. Can I use ApplicationManager.inStartup inside theMIDlet to detect the auto-start of the MIDlet.

3. Will ApplicationManager.inStartupcall conflict with the Java ME libraries (I am using the MIDlet GUIinstead of RIM GUI)?

  1. Yes, it can be done. When your application starts run method isStartup() of net.rim.device.api.system.ApplicationManager class. If it returns true - your application started automatically.
  2. Yes.
  3. No, there won't be confilct.
