How to get what the current backlight timeout is set to ?

Hi all,

Working in 4.2.1. I'd like to be able to arbitrarily increase the backlight timeout, and restore it to what the user had it set to initially when I'm done. Looking at the Backlight API (i.e. Backlight.getTimeoutDefault()), apparently I'm only able to retrieve the default timeout, which -- as I understand -- would be different from the user-set timeout.

Thus my question : how can I get the _current_ timeout setting ? Without that, it looks like I wouldn't be able to ever set the timeout back to what the user had chosen through their BB settings menu.

Thanks for your input !

There is no BlackBerry API that provides the user configured backlight timeout setting.

Use DeviceInfo.getIdleTime and backlightChange interface to get user set backlight.

This is a hack as you will need to wait for backlight to be off. -- Bottomfish
