How to vary GUI for various dimensions

Being new to BlackBerry development I want to know as to how an application can be developed for the various devices with different dimensions. Is there a way in which the APIs automatically take care of adjusting to the screen dimensions; while developing applications for Symbian S60 devices they had a way to provide SVG graphics files - which scaled as per screen dimensions.

It would be of great help if anyone can give me some guidance on this.

Re: How to vary GUI for various dimensions

there is SVG support on the blackberry.

i usually check the display size and load the icons accordingly. by using EncodedImage.scaleimage32 you can scale images, if you scale them by half (e.g.) they still look good.

based on dimensions and other criteria as a post-install step is probably the most versatile solution if you have a server
