Re: JDE 4.5 MDS problems in windows vista

What do you see if you type "java -version" from a command line?

Try starting the MDS-CS Simulator from a command prompt by running the run.bat file.  This should allow you to see any errors before the window closes.

Modify the run.bat file, removing the "start" command and its parameters (ie "start cmd /vSmiley Surprisedn /c") and it should launch in the current DOS window instead of launching a new one.

Re: JDE 4.5 MDS problems in windows vista

That sounds like a Java environment issue.  Do you have the 32 or 64 bit version of Java installed (assuming you are running Vista 64 bit)?  A 32 bit JDK is required.

Re: JDE 4.5 MDS problems in windows vista

If you used the default install locations you can tell by that.

64 bit would install into C:\Program Files

32 bit would install into C:\Program Files (x86)
