Midlet Http Connection without using proprietary API (APN is not specified.)

I have a MIDLET 2.0 application. We need cross-compatibility between MIDLET compliant device (such as Nokia phone).

We support Non-Blackberry devices and Blackberry devices from 4.5 and newers.

For this reason I can't use any RIM proprietary API.

If trying to open a connection I get "APN is not specified.".

By adding ;interface=wifi; I can connect through wifi in both blackberries and nokia phones through wifi only..

But the phone should connect to *any* kind of internet connection choosing the best fitted one transparently.

This seems possible reading http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/attachments/rim/java_dev@tkb/397/1/Network_Tranports_tutoria...

We are RIM partners, subscribed to the appliance.

I already sent a form requesting access to two IP we need for the application and have some key to sign the application requested from RIM.

Our midlet is compiled using Eclipse Pulsar and producing a JAR+JAD file.

Then I convert to cod with rapc tool from JDE 4.5 (and If i must I can create various version of the cod file with various JDE's versions).

Reading in this forums I found stuff like this: http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/800451/800563/What_Is...

requiring to append to the url a suffix with the UUID of the connection. Did not tried yet... but I can't use this since the way to retrieve that UUID is to use RIM api that wouln't compile on Nokia phones.

I really appreciate any help you can give me, thanks.
