Model-independent application

Hi,
I wonder if you can develop applications blackberry, independent of the team.
Ie running the same application on a bold 9300, in a black berry bold 8100 or in 9780,
they have completely different screens, and the application meets all the different modelsof bb ..
How do I do?

thanks...

Re: Model-independent application

welcome to the support forums.

first step is to set a minimum OS version. We usually take 5.0 nowadays, but if you go lower, be aware that applications compiled with <4.7 will run in a compatibility mode on touch devices, this usually means multiple builds - let's not go there yet.

as there are a lot of different resolutions your layout needs to be flexible, so don't use fixed values.
if your application uses graphical buttons or similar you may want to use different sizes, otherwise you should be fine with what you have.
