Need reference on styling ui components

Hi,

I am struggling to find a good documentation with examples on how to style

buttons, backgrounds - colors, borders, background, ...

I am trying to develop an application with light blue background with

three main links/buttons that blend into a background that change color

on the hover.

I would like to make it look like links on the web page that are distinguishable

on by the color of the fonts, and that on hover just slightly change.

Right now I have three buttons but they look very big and clunky, and I

do not know where to find a good guide for changing styling for UI items.

Could anyone please provide link to any such resources or examples.

Thank you advance.

(if you intend to tell me "did you try Google", please don't)
