Re: New BlackBerry 9220 Smartphone Simulator and Specifications Now Available

Got to disagree here.

In UK, Curves are the best selling device I believe, personally I carry my Curve most places because it slips in my back pocket (and if I break it, it is cheap to replace).  So not targeting this market is shooting yourself in the foot (at least in the UK), in my opinion.

And actual screen size on these devices is only a little smaller than the 9900.  So careful design, appropriate fonts, and you can display almost as much to the user as you can on the 9900.  It doesn't look as good, but then if the purchaser was after looks, they would have bought something more expensive.

So I think it is perfectly possible to develop for this screen resolution and I think you should because this is likely to be a popular device.

But just my opinion.

Seems RIM wants to take Nokia's lunch.

Re: New BlackBerry 9220 Smartphone Simulator and Specifications Now Available

I'm curious to see if RIM is going to give up on this low-end market when it changes to BB10, or if they are going to keep old java 7 devices during a year or two. If it is the latter, it is going to be a mess with so many technologies and devices around.

Will QNX be able to run decently on a Curve like these ones?
