Number of colors in phone display

Hey guys,

So I was just testing out an early build of one of my apps in the simulator, and it looked absolutely hideous. I have a gradient background, and it was showing maybe 4 different shades of grey. So I load it up on my device, and it looks pretty much fine. Is there a reason why it would look different on both the device and the simulator?

Thanks,

Josh

Re: Number of colors in phone display

Desktop colour depth set to 16-bit perhaps?  I've not seen any colour issues such as this on the Storm simulator.

Re: Number of colors in phone display

The Storm's color depth is 16bit. Don't know about other BlackBerry's color depth. You can find out how many colors the BlackBerry supports by calling Display.getNumColors().
