Well wouldn't it be easier for RIM to make that API public instead of all of us re-inventing the wheel? They clearly have already built something which they use in their own apps, so what's the matter with making this small but useful feature public?

Right, after some searching, Google brought up this link:
It's an official RIM link explaining how to create a sub menu. Only thing the article doesn't mention is: Where do get the class SubMenu from :-(

I'm agree with you and I'm really annoyed about this.
Sub menu is very basic thing that every serious application must have.
I just wonder about the person who design the API. Maybe, they don't have time to do some programming and experience with their API design.
