OS 6.0 new feature for message indicator action

Hi All,

As you know, there is a lots of new feature added to BB OS 6.0.

what I am asking is the one which we add some indicator to let user know our customized message received.

right now, when there is new message coming, there is email icon will show on ribbon, and if user touch that ICON, a drop down list will show all the new message.

May third party be able to use this feature? any API?

Re: OS 6.0 new feature for message indicator action

this feature is available

I implemented this in my client example for use of Push Service Sample (OS 6) I'm working on.

My example uses 3 different message types (normal push messages, broadcast messages and ContentProvider-Info-Messages) as example using different Icons for each type - and also decorated Icons for New, Opened, Replied, Deleted Messages.

the Messages appear as part of global Messagelist. There's also an Indicator counting new Messages and if clicking on the Indicator you see the last new Messages. Clicking on a message I'm opening a GlobalPushScreen because the Application can be in the background.

If Messages coming in - dependent from Type different Notifications (Sound, vibrate etc) - are used.

are you interested in those things ? then I can paste some parts of the code to give you a feeling how to implement this. will need oner or more weeks until my app will be published open source together with the server part (Jav SE - OSGI - Eclipse)
