OS version 6 needs tweaking

Google talk does not work on the Blackberry 9300 that has software 6.0 loaded on it yet the very same google talk version work on the Blackberry 9300 operating with software version 5.

When is the software going to be tweaked. I resent the fact that I have a newer handset with the most up to date software yet it isn't operating at the same standards as other older models with older software.

Also a bit furious that nobody in Vodacom, South Africa, has the knowledge to assist with these queries!

Re: OS version 6 needs tweaking

I think you're in the wrong forum. This is a development forum, we don't have any control over the Google Talk app.

You would benefit well from reading and practicing the XXXX tips from my buddy Mr. Stinsonddog.
Look at this link for them, download and print out the PDF file and practice the tips while using your device. You'll be amazed at all the cool things your BlackBerry can do.

Please don't be rude nor untruthful.

Reviewing all of your posts in this forum, I see responses and help given to all of your posts thus far, except for one. That's a pretty good record for a user-to-user community support forum. We're not RIM employees, we're volunteers who enjoy helping others.

Re: OS version 6 needs tweaking

The user already has asked in about three different sections of this forum. A fourth is really not necessary.

Re: OS version 6 needs tweaking

I can see how it would be easy to assume I'm trying to be rude or disrepectful as clearly this issue hasn't been successfully addressed by my service provider.

I understand that whilst there have been replies to previous issues I experienced, I feel that this is an incredible forum to share knowledge. The only issue I have is that the advice is not necessarily the right fix for my problem per say, yet it gets marked as resolved.

Wanted a blackberry so much, just didn't realise that there wasn't sufficient support in SA.

I have already wasted countless hours on this device. I will just downgrade the operating software. I simply cannot believe that this phone has been nothing but one endless disaster after the next. And each issue required hours and hours of research and my one concern with these phones are not worth a cent of what we're charged for them since there isn't local support.

If you think that I'm rude, apologies, perhaps in your country they're equipped to assist you.

Re: OS version 6 needs tweaking

Oh, sorry if you misunderstood, I didn't say you were trying to be rude. I just said it is considered rude to post multiple threads on the same issue, and as well, you said you had "no" responses, which is a world different from "the advice is not necessarily the right fix for my problem", and I haven't seen ANY of your posts on this issue marked as resolved.

Anyway, I think you misunderstand that this Forum is absolutely brilliant for help, but we are not RIM employees, just volunteers who help where we can, and direct others where they might find sufficient support if we are not able to do so ourselves.

Your issue to get Gtalk working or to provide advice to RIM that it is not working on OS6 is one best directed to your carrier in SA, AND then ask them to "escalate' your issue to RIM. Get an escalation number and follow up. You have the very same support option in SA as I do in the US... no different.

Good luck.

Oh, and also,.. just be patient when posting in a support forum such as this. Everything is not answered, resolved or responded to within 24 hours.
