That's a great resource, Simon! I was afraid I'd have to write that myself but that's a good start. Can't quite imagine how I'll test it...
Looks like it even addresses issues with older OSes and CoverageInfo problems.

Try the same URL on the Browser (on the BB and on the desktop) to confirm that in fact there is a new jad file there. Unless you have a coding bug, the code you have described should give you the latest version.

I tried it in bb brower, it return latest only,
and when I run the application from JDE and and put higher version on server then its works fine
but when I download application to simulator or device(without debugging) and put higher version on server then it fails, is returns the current version
My code is like
open connection to jad url
get the byte data
conver it into string
convert this string to json object
get the version from json

The situation I wish to clarify is as follows:
If you use the Browser on the same device/Simulator that has reported a failure, do you see the old or new version?
So can you do the following:
a) Get yourself in an error situation on device or Simulator.
b) Try the same URL from the Browser and see if you see the old or new one.
You need to use a Browser that matches the connection method of your application.
I am suspicious of some gateway caching and reusing your request.
