In Option>Memory we have some information:
- Application Memory
- Device memory
Which memory is used to store when we use RIM Persistent API?
I would like to know that because I want to know how much data an application can store. Is it some KB or is it some MB ?

For my phone (STORM2), the application memory is around 128.
Thus, unless we store lots of big image files/video, we don't have to worry to much about run out of memory.

In my opinion, Application Memory is not the appropriate place for big images and videos, put these on the SD Card. There are power users out there that will use the Application Memory on their device (remember not all have 128 MB too) with their emails, contacts, notes and so on. I suspect that if you fill Application Memory up with your videos and images then they will complain.

I would not like to give a specific size and say images bigger than this size should be stored on SD Card. And it depends on the number of these images that you have. But I would think very carefully before including more than 512 KB of images or MP3s or the like in your Application.
Regarding getting these onto your SD Card, you might find this useful:
