PhoneLog list never has the same items as the native Phonelog

Hi all.

I am trying to calculate minute spent on calls. But cannot get the same behaviour as the native PhoneLog.

For instance, I delete all the PhoneLog entries in the PhoneLog manually.

Then I browse through all the entries with:

  allPhoneLogs = new SimpleSortingVector();

for (int i = 0; i < fPhoneLogsInstance.numberOfCalls(PhoneLogs.FOLDER_NORMAL_CALLS); i++) { PhoneCallLog callLog = (PhoneCallLog)fPhoneLogsInstance.callAt(i, PhoneLogs.FOLDER_NORMAL_CALLS); allPhoneLogs.addElement(callLog); } for (int i = 0; i < fPhoneLogsInstance.numberOfCalls(PhoneLogs.FOLDER_MISSED_CALLS); i++) { PhoneCallLog callLog = (PhoneCallLog)fPhoneLogsInstance.callAt(i, PhoneLogs.FOLDER_MISSED_CALLS); allPhoneLogs.addElement(callLog); }

To my surprise they are all there !

The PhoneLog is empty, but the entries are there !?

Futher more inside the Options of the Phone log  is a setting called 'Phone List View'.

After changing from  'CallLog' to 'Most recent' I see entries that were already deleted ! (similar thing happens when changing to any other type of view: 'Name', 'Most used'

1) So how can I correctly count only the entries shown in the 'Call log' view type of the call log ? (or any other type for that matter?)

2) Is there a way to completely delete the phonelog entry so it does not appear in any of the view types?

Re: PhoneLog list never has the same items as the native Phonelog

on some OS versions the displayed calllog and the internal version are not in sync, restarting the device helps.
it is a bug in the firmware, there is nothing you can do about it except using a newer firmware.

Re: PhoneLog list never has the same items as the native Phonelog

Thanks for the tip.

I am using 4.5.

Is there a list of OS versions that have this fixed ?

This bug is really annoying Smiley Sad

How about number two:

2) Is there a way to completely delete the phonelog entry so it does not appear in any of the view types?

The strange thing is, that I deleted these entries by hand and some in code, and they both appear untouched in the internal phone log and other phoenlog View types, but the 'phone log' view type has the record deleted.

Why does it behave 'properly' while others don't ?

Have a look at this previous post from Simon.
