Please suggest the best way..to upload chunks of data in assynchronous

Hi All,

In my application I need to upload large files like videos and etc..

Right now I am uploading in chunks but it is sinchronous, Is it better or I need to go for some thing else, If so because of too many threads exception I have to control Thread count.

Please share your experience if any by just suggesting the way of approach.

Thanks.

Re: Please suggest the best way..to upload chunks of data in asynchronous

First, let us be clear that by upload, you mean send from the BlackBerry to the Server.

There are two tricks to this, the sending and the asynchronous.

I believe that you can do the sending with no Server development to an appropriately configured HTTP Server if you use a multipart post, as demonstrated in this sample here:

https://github.com/cleverua/blackberry_multipart_post

I have never done this.  I have always had Server 'receiving' code (typically PHP) and chunked the data myself.  This does allow for multiple Threads doing the uploading, as long as the Server can accept the data out of order.  But you will have to write Server code to handle this.

Does this provide you with what you want?
