Popup on application start

Hi all, my first post here.

I want to display a popup when user click on my applicaton icon. I'm using:

pushScreen(new MyPopupScreen());

 And it works, but it displays popup on white backgroung.

I've tried

pushGlobalScreen(new MyPopupScreen, 0, 0);

When used in App's constructor, it do display popup on top of 'native' screen, but displaying popup on startup is not desired. When moved to

private boolean firstTime = true;

activate() {
  if (firstTime) {
    firstTime = false;
  } else {
    pushGlobalScreen(new MyPopupScreen, 0, 0);

It displays popup on top of white screen again. Is there a way to get rid if that whit screen, and just display a popup on top of 'native' screen?

Re: Popup on application start

Short answer is no.

A UiApplication is always given a white screen.  I believe this s a security feature, so that you can put one Application over the top of another, and then steal input that the user thinks is going to the underlying application.  Whether this is the reason or not, a UiApplication, in the foreground, always has a white background.

There are two workarounds:

1) Use a Global Screen.  Be aware that this is not really tied to your application, so to use it you can push it, and then move the application to the background.

2) Take a screen shot and use this as the background for your application, then push the Popup screen on top of that.

Sorry I can't give you a better answer.
