Problem creating a Socket Connection

I trying to do a Socket Connection within a IRC-Client with following line:

connector = (StreamConnection)Connector.open("socket://irc.ntalk.de:6667;deviceside=true");

The connection can be established with the Simulator. But on my Device i only do get a "Tunnel failed".
I tried every other possibilty (Specifying the APN, with deviceside=false etc). But i am not behind a BES, so this steps were not successful.

I realized that there is no APN specified in the Settings, but the APN Settings are activated. Browser, ICQ, Google Maps etc work fine on my device. Just my App can not establish a connection.

I do read the:

but it does not help me.

Has anyone how i can get this to work correctly?

I am Using the newest JDE 4.7 GOLD and i do have a BlackBerry Storm. My Provider is Vodafone Germany.

Re: Problem creating a Socket Connection

The BlackBerry Browser does not make a direct TCP connection, therefore does not rely on the APN settings.

Note that applications are able to specify their own APN information, which could be why some other applications are working.  I recommend you verify the APN required with your carrier and confirm your account has access to connect through it.
