Push Service in App

Hi

I want to implement Push Service in my app.

I don't know how to implement this.

I have seen this link..

[ Edited ]

I suggest, before you ask questions like this, you do some research and try things, so that you better understand what you are asking for and so will ask a better question and better understand the answer.

What you are asking here is a bit like going on a helicopter forum and saying, "I want to fly a helicopter, tell me how".  What sort of answer would you expect to that question?

Amongst things you should do now are::

1) Register

2) Review the other push related pages including: https://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/develop/platform_services/how_push_service_works.html

3) Review the sample provided

4) Search the forum for KB articles and other questions that might help.

Once you have done all this, then you will ask a much better question I think, and understand the answer perhaps.

Re: Push Service in App

Hi

I have seen this sample app.

http://rincethomas.blogspot.in/search/label/Push%20Notification

I have a confusion, in my class with main method, I have pushed the SplashScreen class and in this sample app register class is pushed.

So i am confused where do i push the SplashScreen and where do i push the register class.

 public App()

       pushScreen(new register());
    }

Re: Push Service in App

i wonder if that sample actually works.
from his thread he displays a dialog without using invokelater, this would cause an exception.
Most of it looks ok though, did you try to run his whole app?

Re: Push Service in App

I have seen the working of push service.

I want to know that whether i have to download the sdk or create my own push initiator ??

I simply want to get the access token from the push service and send that token to a webservice(i have a webservice url)

Re: Push Service in App

in the end a certain URL has to be called with a payload (a push message).
how you achieve that is up to you.
the push sdk is designed to help you with this and other things, like managing device registrations etc, but it's up to you to use it.
