RMS security

HI All,

I need help regarding RMS data security. I have created one application and store the necessary data in RMS. I am using following code,

RecordStore recStore = RecordStore.openRecordStore(_databaseName, true);

I want to know that weather stored data is secured or not (I want my data to be secured as it is going to be sensitive)?

Can that data be shared by another application if it knows the record store name?

If the data can be shared shall I implement encoding and decoding for the same?

Thanks,

rdhepe

RMS data can be shared in Midlet suite. Two different Midlet applications installed separately will not have access to share your RMS data.

PS: Corrected the sentence.

Re: RMS security

"If it is sensitive data no as you ahve thought you can encrypt and store it. "

Sorry I did not get your point.

Are you saying that I should encrypt the text while storing in RMS?

Re: RMS security

If you have thought of sending the stored data over network you could go for encrypt/decrypt. If it is in your own application, It is not required as only your MIDlet can access that data.

Use Search. "Accept Solution" If the problem is resolved.
