I have an application that when it runs, it checks for the existance of a specific file.
I do check if the application has a file Permission. I get back that PERMISSION_FILE_API is set to :allow.
Then when I check for file existance of the file, it prompt with a dialog notifying/asking the user that my application is trying to access the SDCard.
This happens when I run after a fresh install.
Is'nt that, if PERMISSION_FILE_API is set to allow, the app should not prompt the user?
If it is not the case, so what permission controls the access to SDCard?

The phone that has this behavior is connected to a BES. I noticed that if Company_Network permission is set to prompt, this behavior will happen. If the default Company Network connections is set to "Allow", it does not happen ( i.e. the app will not prompt when acessing the SDCard).
So, what is the relation between accessing the SDCard permission and the Company Network connections permission?

Are you able to reproduce this in BlackBerry handheld software version 4.5.0?
Do you have a BlackBerry running version 4.5.0 you can test on? Alternatively you can upgrade your existing BlackBerry handheld, assuming your carrier has made version 4.5.0 available.

I can reproduce it on 4.2.1.
I cannot use 4.5 because most of the users of our application are still using 4.2.x.
It is not easy to ask them to upgrade, plus that we are not sure that all carriers have the new version available.
