Search Blackberry Address Book By Name
Posted: Jul 24, 2008 9:31 AM

Hi,
i had written a code that retreives the blackeberry address book phone number from contact name. What iam currently doing is the manual searching of the address book.

My question is, is it possible to search the address book contacts using lookup methods instead of going through the search process manually using PIM. I had seen certain methods in BlackberryContactList named lookup and some other methods which are useful. Is it really possible to get a contact's details like email, phone numbers (Home, Work, and Mobile) by entering the name of the contact.

Please help me in this aspect.

Thanks

Yes this is possible by using the BlackBerryContactList.lookup method.  Please see the JavaDocs for more information.
