Sending a notification to a device.

Is there a way to send a notification via BBM from a web server? I do not want to do this via email cause it is much slower.

Re: Sending a notification to a device.

No, but you could send an SMS.

Alternatively (and preferrably, I guess) you mnight investigate the BB push service.

Re: Sending a notification to a device.

Here is the catch 22.

1. SMS requires a voice plan witch goes against the purpose of my application.

2. My application uses third party content providers' servers. So it is difficult to put server side code into those servers.

Re: Sending a notification to a device.

Then you'll need to take a look at the Push SDK.

Search the forum, there are several threads doing on this.

Re: Sending a notification to a device.

I did that. One question.

Is Push Service free for all developers, not just Allience Program member?

Re: Sending a notification to a device.

Downloaded the PUSH SDK package and it requires a database server for it to install which I don't have at this time and all we want to do is to send a very short notification to the device. Is there a way to by pass the databasing stuff?
