Showing icons in ObjectChoiceField

I'm working with JDE 4.3 running blackberry 8330 + OS 4.3 and 4.5...

Has anyone found a way to display an icon next to each choice in an ObjectChoiceField? Seems to support only display of strings. I'd like to augment that with miniature icons next to each string. I can't seem to find any visibility to the "window" or screen that pops up when you activate the choice. All the standard Field.* methods (e.g. paint(), layout()) seem to give visibility only to the field in its unactivated state.

I'd like this functionality, but I don't think its worth reinventing the choice field altogether?

Is there any hope?

Thanks,

Chad

Re: Showing icons in ObjectChoiceField

I guess it's impossible since items are displayed on a popup screen and 3rd application developers has no access to it.
