Signature Key - Tool for Remote Store?

Ok, i am facing virus problems again, apparently recided in the boot sector, while received once again a new signature key. Looks like i got to format once more, since mac address is same, can the api access key being stored remotely in order to prevent another key purchase? (in my case not possible anymore, lacking CC), also got already 2 times keys replaced by support, no idea where the limit is, don't want to stretch patience however.

If you have purchased keys once you do not need to purchase them again.

backup all *.csi files, and sigtool.db and sigtool.set files.

That's it.

When you've your your system reinstalled - restore these files to the JDE/bin folder.

Hmm, I did not understand your answer.

Key signature files described above cannot be infected by virus. And you can backup them. And restore later.

Re: Signature Key - Tool for Remote Store?

Additional points:

Key signature files just stores keys to access RIM servers. The signing process is going with RIM-servers intervention.

And in case you have lost your signature keys - just contact RIM, provide information when you've purchased the keys and you'll get these files by email.

To prevent such problems - just store these files at the safe place. And make regular backups.

Re: Signature Key - Tool for Remote Store?

well.. as far as i've learned (bear i'm noob), you can only register the .csi once, after that they're useless. Any new attempt to register again would result in deactivation.

Its Vista having virus, therefore needed to be formated.

There are limited qty of unsuccessfull attempts for registration.

When you transfer your csi files on to fresh system - you will be asked your password that you use to sign your cod files.

In case you have problems with this - send me a private message.

I'll try to help you with that.
