I'd like to use SMS notify my app, and I don't want those message to appear in the devices' inbox.
This article states that this is possible.
Can I test that using simulator?
I also found a sample in \components\samples\com\rim\samples\server\smsdemo
What I'm looking for is how to send message from server to device, using the setting explained in that article.

Actually I'm not looking for how to send SMS between simulators. What I'm looking for is how to send SMS from server to device, because a special setting on the server side is required, and whether this is possible to run on simulator or not.
To prevent this message from appearing in the BlackBerry device user’s inbox, the sending server should configure the SMS message so that the message type is a system message. This message type can be defined by setting the Protocol Identifier (TP-PID) to 64 (0x40), and the Digital Coding Scheme (TP-DCS) to 244 (0xF4), as shown below:
Hopefully I don't misunderstand you

Yeah, I have no clue as well.
I did some Googling, and I found that you can build a simple SMS gateway using gammu, Apache + PHP + MySQL (for the web interface), and a phone/modem.
I'll see what I can do, then.
