Smart Dialling

When creating a phone call through the usall API via a formatted telephone number, for example +44 (0)161 1234567, calls fine and displays as +441611234567 whilst being dialled which is fine.

However when in redial list it still displays as +44 (0)161 1234567 which would also be okay but when you try and redial the number from the redial list the number comes back as unobtainable and can be seen being dialled as +4401611234567 so doesn't drop the zero.

The best way round this I can think of as it is happening on all devices with the smart dialling parameters set correctly is to format the number before I pass it however we do have some international users so would love to use the same method as smart dialling does on the first initial call when it formats it correctly.

So my question really is, is there a way to validate a formatted telephone number via some kind of API using smart dialling without making a call?
