Stack Overflow Error occurs in Eclipse when removing a reference to a renamed resource in Windows 7

by Retired on ‎07-06-2010 04:24 PM (2,115 Views)

This issue occurs in Windows® 7 when you run Eclipse® 3.5.0 and 3.5.1.
For example, a stack overflow error is thrown by Eclipse. Eclipse will need to restart.

This issue is caused when a resource file name or content is changed, but is still referenced by Eclipse in the Application Descriptor of a project.

This is a known issue in Eclipse, and is caused by retaining a reference to a file that no longer exists.

This issue appears to have been resolved in Eclipse 3.5.2.
