Stopping user from changing keyboard style programatically

Hi,

I am porting an application developed in J2me on to Strom(9530).

My problem is that I want to restrict user from changing the style of keyboard i.e I want to fix the type of keyboard

say to Suretype globally in my application.

Is this possible programmatically to restrict user from selecting the style of keyboard.

Regards,
Rajat Gupta.

Re: Stopping user from changing keyboard style programatically

is the menu the only way to change it? you can overwrite makemenu to deny the user this option.

Re: Stopping user from changing keyboard style programatically

There are no APIs that allow an application to specify the input method.  However, since the reduced SureType keyboard is displayed while the BlackBerry Storm is in portrait mode you can prevent the full keyboard from being shown by restricting the screen orientation.  This link explains how.

How To - Control the screen orientation
