Tabbed interfaces

I am tring to create tabbed interface for my application. I know we can create interface like explained at http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/800332/800505/800508/...

But I am looking for more rich UI. Could you please share some pointers or thoughts ?

Re: Tabbed interfaces

These samples aren't for tabs, but are examples of rich UIs.

Implement advanced buttons, fields, and managers

Re: Tabbed interfaces

funny u ask

I am creating an app right now for work and it needs tabs, so because its not standard, I decided to use the pillbutton sample to simulate tags, ( in the advanced ui referenced above)

thanks u guys so much for making this, and all the other samples, i'd be a dead duck without

all these examples

my app looks nice so far, but i wish I could have an icon in the pillbutton

maybe an additional constructor to pass one in

so looking at the tabs you'd see a row of  icons/text for each button

working on changing that myself, but have to mess with paint so i am sure

i am going to mess things up bad, i am green to all this

going to start another thread to see if anyone can help

Re: Tabbed interfaces

I'm not sure if this will help you but I've created an interface very similar to the BlackBerry Facebook application using the HorizontalFieldManager along with several BitmapButtonField. Each button would have one pic representing the tab.

I think you can create pictures that look like tabs and put them together in a HorizontalFieldManager you can achieve the desired effect just the same way I did it.

Hope this helps!
