We are trying to write an application that can upload images from the phone to a website. We are basically trying to simulate part of the interface that the media browser application has where you pick a folder and then see thumbnails for media. Currently we have to scan the directories and build thumbnails for all media type files. In the past, we could get thumbnails for some photos out of the bbthumbs.dat files, but OS 5 seems to have changed that and that file is no longer used. Now the device seems to have a series of .dat and .key files stored in the /Device Memory/appdata/rim/media folder. The files are named like:
Does anyone know of a method to parse these files an pull out thumbnails. Alternatively, is there some java class that basically handles media browsing for us that lets us pick folders like you do in the media browser, then see a list of thumbnails for that folder? That would be ideal, so we wouldn't have to re-invent the wheel.
Thanks in advance....

THis is not a forum for contacting RIM, it is a peer to peer support forum. If you wish to contact RIM, I suggest you set up an Alliance partnership (there is a free level).
Also DevCon usually has roundtable type sessions where you get to harass RIM about things you would like to see.
