Turning autostart off/on programmatically ?

My application is autostart-ed (set by the JDE).

I want to allow the user to change the autostart behavior (i.e.. allow him to turn the autostart feature on/off)

Can it be done programmatically (e.g. using some registry entry value, or similarly) ?

(I know that I can use a second entrypoint approach - I was just wondering if there is a way to do it in more simple way, because the second entrypoint approach is a fake autostart on/off since the app will be autostarted anyway :-) )

Re: Turning autostart off/on programmatically ?

There is no way to prevent an application from being autostarted.  However, you application could determine if it should perform its startup operations or not.  You could store a persistent value that the application checks on startup.  If true, it performs its startup actions, if false, it could do nothing and exit.
