Upgrading the RecordStore

Hi all,

In my present application I used few fileds to store in RecordStore. Now I have a requirement to store another field in the same Store. How can I upgrade my RecordSore for my application, i.e Without  deleting the appliction from the device, I want to install the appliction with this change. But  what I observed was if  we change the RecordStore it is thorwing EOF File Exception.

without getting this Exception how can I upgrade my RecordStore. Can any one please help me in this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Upgrading the RecordStore

You're application could detect the format of the stored data and either read it in its old or new format and then save it in the new format.

Meaning you'll need some sort of mechanism to update the data if your application detects the previous format.

What is throwing an EOFException?
